NCCER Core is designed as a rigorous, competency-based, industry-recognized program for career and technical education. The knowledge and skills established in Core are the foundation that successful construction careers are built on. Successful completion of the Core curriculum is a prerequisite for any Level One craft certificate from NCCER. Core certification lays the groundwork for students to pursue an advanced training program in a specialty area like carpentry, heavy equipment operations, HVAC, plumbing, or power line worker.
